Hello everyone, As you may already know that I live in Saudi Arabia, and I’m struggling to find many healthy bird supplies, such as seeds and playgrounds...etc i found these two seeds mixes that I think may be the best options found so far, but can’t seem to make sure which one is better, your help would be greatly appreciated

Can you find either of these in a finch seed mix?? The first one has the greater variety of seed, but a lot there that budgies shouldn't be eating - sunflower (black and striped) safflower, sorghum (x2), and then flax and niger seeds are both oil seeds. The other doesn't have a great variety of seed, but still has the oil seeds - niger and linseed, plus hemp seed. Oil seeds should not make up more than 5% of the bird's diet.

Sorry, lemonora, I should have clarified my statement - finch mixes usually don't have the same amount of oats/groats in them as budgie mixes (if any), but I saw a couple the other day that were almost all oats!! That one doesn't look to have too many - can you get a list of the seeds included?

It may or may not be helpful, but if you can find a supplier that sells seeds separately then you could make your own mix of red+yellow+white millet, canary grass seed, groats?

I think the ingredients are written on the bottom of the photo, Thanks again Hezz I really appreciate your help:) You're right; they are, I didn't see it when I first looked - I was focused on the packet. I think that is actually quite a good mix. Yes it does still have some oats and some oil seeds, but it would seem that they are a relatively small portion of the over-all mix.

I was actually wondering if it’s possible and if it wouldn’t cause you any trouble That you would give me a list of the seeds that I’m supposed to look for in a seed mix, so that when I go to a shop I can tell by reading the Ingredient list But If it’s in any way troublesome, then please don’t worry about it, your input is already very helpful I just really would like to learn as much as I can Thanks again for everything

The more variety, the better, so the more types of millets and panicums is a good thing, and the canary seed is good as well. With that finch seed mix that you supplied the link to, and most ingredient lists are written with the the larger % at the front of the list and down to that of which there is little of. In this case these are the niger, linseed, oats and sesame seeds. Niger, linseed and sesame are oil seeds and oats the budgies love just a bit too much, so it is good that these are at the tail end of the list. It would be better if they supplied a % for each seed type but that can vary with good or not so good seasons, so I understand why they might not want to do that.
