could you tell me why, BB? What makes an Opaline an Opaline? What Opaline does is to reverse the striping pattern on the head feathers. Thus the white areas are thicker and black stripes are thinner. Also the body feather color runs through the back of the neck and also down through the wing feathers. In simple words, instead of white, you will see body color in wing feathers. Do you have a bigger version of this picture? It will confirm it.

well I am half-way through saving for a new cage for my flock. They are still in two cages which is not ideal for them, or for me! My boss surprised me the other day with the news that I am going to get a bonus the next time we get paid because I have been helping out in another department. So hopefully the weekend after next I will be able to go to Pets at Home.
Good news is that I managed to find a whole lot of toys and stuff on Amazon for them, which is great since I have a gift certificate balance still, from my birthday. Spent about £30 on the little darlings, not that they will appreciate that. According to Jamie, the best toy invented is a piece of string with four pegs clipped to it! He loves picking up the bottom peg and chucking it about.

Two of the toys I ordered online have arrived, been put in a cage and terrifed the flock! One is a triangular swing of really stiff rope, and one is a dangler with wooden bits and bells on it. Bonnie seems to be less scared of the dangler than the other two, she is still sitting in the cage with it, the other two scarpered as soon as I went away from the cage, leaving the door open after putting the thing in! Bonnie and the dangler.... the swing, taken out of the cage

Budgies are such little scardy birds at time Watch that long chain as a budgie can get caught on that. I would either shorten the chain or only have it out for supervised playtime. Same with the swing, either that or cut off the tassels at the bottom as they can get their feet caught in them.

By the way, they will leave the cage once the door is open, whether or not they are scared of toys
