Charlie won’t touch egg, but he will eat the dried egg food, especially if I crumble a tiny bit of millet into it.

It could be dietary. Maybe it’ll be worth giving the bird care company a call to discuss whether any particular food or supplements could help. birdcareco-shop.com/

Ken do you know what bird seed he is on? I have recently changed my Budgies bird seed, plus he has a tonic seed a couple of times a week. The difference in the seed is amazing...no dust etc. Perhaps a change of seed would help?

My budgies have just changed to Hagen seed and I mix in finch seed as well and they love it. They eat really well on it.

Mine are the same - never got into eggs at all but are happy to munch on the eggfood. ken77, what is the seed mix that you are feeding? There might be something missing, or getting too much of, but I really would try the eggfood/egg first. Then work on increasing his veg uptake.

Thanks for the kind words. Tried him with cucumber and tomato, he won't touch them! Will try more variation on greens soon, and will also try the egg as suggested. No, he can't really fly apart from a few inches now, he used to be a really good flyer too. Thanks again, Kenny.

Eric will only eat dark green fresh food like spinach, red chard, basil and lambs lettuce, he won’t touch any other colour. I mix a small amount of egg food into his seed and feed every day.

Probably two of the least interesting veg, lol!!! Try carrot, corn, snow peas, broccoli, asian greens, basil, dill etc. Red foods are usually regarded as toxic in a bird's eye, cucumber and lettuce are full of water (zucchini as well) and will give them runny poops, so limits on them. The outer green leaves of lettuce are okay, celery is another good one ...

Avoid brasicas too - we do have a list here of friendly foods to offer your budgie boy (apologies but didn't know if he was female til you posted the picture)
