I noticed at the weekend Ben scratching his bum a lot, sometimes his poops were falling in clumps.
On Monday night I bathed it in lukewarm salted water and put on some Sudocrem.
He then seemed to go off his food, hardly eating seed or any of his favourite stuff, not even eating his seeding grass with the same enthusiasm. Then his poops seemed to go right down to a minimum.
So, back to the vet this afternoon. She gave him a great examination but said she could feel nothing except for a bit of thick skin around his vent area as if he had been rubbing it. I told her about his regular morning "jiggy" on his ladder (not happened since Max died though).
She took the poop he had done in the travel cage away for analysis, and came back to tell me there was more bad bacteria than good in it.
He has to have Avipro Plus in his water, which I still had from Max, plus 0.03ml of Marbocyl to be given orally for a week.
Back next Thursday for a check-up.

That's not the news you were needing right now, JB. At least you have gotten poor Ben seen to and being treated in a very short time. Praying that the Avipro and Marbocyl work their magic in record short time. I will be thinking of you both all day. xxx

He got a piece of millet after getting home from the vet which he seemed to enjoy. I saw him drinking the water with AP, and he took his meds tonight with not too much fuss. He's a little super trooper 😚

Poor baby. I hope he’s feeling better soon jellybean. Me too Jane, he just had a full health check 3 weeks ago and got a Gold star. You can never take your eye off the ball with these little guys.
