I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee and a couple of biscuits reading through, and replying to Shirls scam thread. Loki was sitting on his cage having a good old natter to himself. It was only when he dropped it that I realized why he was being so content - he had stolen my biscuit when I went to make my coffee! I'm not sure how big the piece he got was before he dropped it, but far too big for any bird to have! Bleedin' brat!

Ha ha! What kind of biscuit? It was an ANZAC biscuit. Maybe that's his way of becoming a citizen? ?? Ingredients 1 1/4 cups plain flour, sifted. 1 cup rolled oats. 1/2 cup caster sugar. 3/4 cup desiccated coconut. 150g unsalted butter, chopped. 2 tablespoons golden syrup or treacle. 1 1/2 tablespoons water. 1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda. History lesson: The biscuits were sent by wives and women's groups to soldiers abroad because the ingredients did not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation.

Like the sound of that Hezz. Be careful though, my Dusty (chook) used to love digestive biscuits and she got one hell of a stomach (crop) problem and I'm sure it was because of that. She had to have an op!!

Luckily parrots are such messy little sh*ts and very rarely go down to find what they dropped. Of course, he did, and didn't I get screamed at when I took it from him?? Shirls, he wasn't supposed to be a thief! Never again ... biscuits come with me back to the kitchen when my coffee is ready, so of course I just now found him with his head in the container I used looking for crumbs. Looked most put out that there wasn't anything bigger to abscond with.

helenmat, I used to. Not any more. I gave it up when the boys wouldn't eat anything that didn't contain chocolate. Anyway, they have flown the coop now, and if I bake who is going to eat it?? I don't need the extra padding, thanks!
