Hi guys My budgie was sick one week ago. He was fighting with dierrhea. I took him to a vet. They gave me some medicine. One of them anti bacterial and the other one is vitamin K , A , C. They helped him and he recovers . Yesterday I realized that he doesnt see anything at all. Only reacts to a voice . I tested it and I m sure he is blind now. I dont know what happend . What should I do ? Anyone experienced that too ? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry I cannot answer your question, but I think you need to speak to your vet about this.

Someone will be along to help you soon....it would be a good idea to give a bit more information, his age and could you put a photo of him on? Was his eyesight alright before his illness?

I agree with Jane. You need to go back to your vet, or if you do not trust them, seek out another avian vet.
If the budgie is blind then do not change around any perches or food, but perhaps put some extra food/water in.

He was like this when he fight dierrhea. I gave him Avidiare(anti bacterial) and Avit-K+C powder (A-C-K vitamins) . He was fine before dierrhea. But now i think he is blind. Now like this.

I'm wondering if it could be something like heavy metal poisoning.
Are there any rusty bars or toys/bells?

I know I have to take him to an avian vet but i don't even know it s exist in Turkey. That s why I write here and expect someone to help me . I took him to a vet before but they dont even know what it is. Also I think they don't care.

We're not vets here, avian or otherwise. I wouldn't have a clue of treatment or even if that is what your bird has.
But your bird should not be exposed to rust.
Are there really no avian vets in Turkey? Please find out.

Heavy metal poisoning can lead to blindness in birds, definitely. This is a good article ... www.bird-vet.com/heavyMetalPoisoninginBirds.aspxI suggest you do a lot of research into it and perhaps you can find some things on line to help flush the toxins from the body if a vet is not available. I know not everyone has access to decent vets, and without actually knowing whether this is heavy metal poisoning, at least you can be proactive. At this stage, though, it may be too late to reverse the blindness.
