Hi guys, I’m relatively new to breeding, and the first egg just hatched a few hours ago. When should I start to get worried if its crop is still empty? Because as of now, it still is.
Thanks in advance!

Quite often a chick will not be fed for 8-10 hours. When to start worrying? When it has been a full day without food. That's the information I have gotten from a reputable breeder. Is the chick calling for food?

It’s been making high pitched squeaking noises, and then going quiet for a few minutes and then proceeds squeaking. Maybe the squeaking is its call for food?

Yes, any noise is asking for food at this early age.

Alright, thanks! I just checked this morning and the chick has been fed.

That's great! Good to be vigilant, though.
