lemonora, never think that you annoy anyone with questions, we have all had to learn, and are still learning, including myself. A few years back members on here used Trill, then they added stuff to their seed (can't remember what now) and it put people off. I buy my seed from www.haiths.combut I dont know where you live. If you're in the UK check out their website.

Thank you jellybean so much for your kind words I live in Saudi Arabia (KSA) I don’t think they deliver :/ I really wish that more care would be given to birds here, it’s really sad, I struggle to find basic stuff, like millet sprays, healthy seeds, cuttlebones , playgrounds (recently available) and even decent cages. Hopefully things get better

lemonora, how frustrating for you to not be able to get the same thing continuously. Remember to steer away from the budgie mixes with their excess fatty seeds and look at the finch mixes. The Trill has a good variety of seed and would be fine if your birds lived in a huge aviary and spent all day flying around. But they don't, plus I think there is a lot of seed in it that the budgies simply wouldn't eat. Look for a seed mix that has at least five different varieties of seed, and if all you can get is a budgie mix, then think about being prepared to pull out the oats. Most budgies just love their oats (the old expression "feeling his oats" came about for a reason), will eat them before anything else and then not have the opportunity to burn off all that excess energy. While your birdies are only young now, you don't or need the added worry of possible obesity in their middle age. It is easier to get it right firstly, and not have to take steps later on when they may be more reluctant to embrace change. I wish you luck with your quest. Take some photos of the finch mixes that you can get hold of as well, to see whether these might be a better option. I've just had a look at the listed ingredients of the budgie mix, as opposed to the pie chart, and the included seeds are different. If the mix is as per your photo from the Trill page, I'd say that was the better mix - several different types of millet, canary seed is included as well. As long as it doesn't have too many oats (they used to over-load their mixes with oats, which is one reason why many people stopped using it.)

Thank you Hezz so much you’ve been with me in this (searching for seeds) journey I couldn’t find the finch mix that you recommended before :/ and yes it is so frustrating and disappointing, so I’ll stick with the trill option for now then, since their ingredients is better than the pie chart, hopefully I’ll find a finch mix from it, I’ll let you know if I do. Thank you for your input and the information you’ve given me, I’ve learned a lot from you and I really appreciated it I will keep searching maybe I will find finch mixes (hopefully) and I will keep updating here as soon as I find something new thanks again for your help and care

Hezz, I looked closer at the trill mix seeds, and found pieces of stones and also what looked like small sea shells, a close up below, on the left is one of the stones and on the right is the shell, are those ok? Thanks again for your help

It's not a problem, and I'm happy to help. The little shells are fine; they are the same as what you would get as soluble grit. I don't know about the stones. Do you have some of this already? I'm wondering if they are proper stones or perhaps they might be the "Nutrivit" part of the mix: from their website ... NUTRIVIT™, a specially formulated mix of vitamins and minerals to help keep your bird happy and healthy:
NUTRIVIT™ Contains Vitamin A – for good eyesight. Vitamin B group – for shiny feathers. Vitamin C – for a healthy immune system. Vitamin D3 – to assist calcium absorption. Vitamin E – for reproductive health. Calcium – for healthy bones and beak. Iodine – for healthy thyroid function. If you can, see whether you can break up these stones, to see whether they are real stones or whether they might be these additives. I would be careful if they are real stones - if you have to get this mix, I would go through and pull them out, which is a bit of a hassle but I found a colander handy when I used to remove the oats. All the millets go straight through, a few shakes and most of the canary seeds did as well and you'd mostly be left with the oats. Those "stones" look big enough to stay behind as well.

Hezz, I squished one stone looking thing between my fingeres and it crushed easily into a powder like substance (pics below) So that means that it’s not actual stones, they are the (Nitrivit) vitamins, right? I can keep the mix as it is then? I like that it’s (the vitamins) not colored with dyes like other brands. Thanks again I really appreciate all your help

Yes; that's what I was thinking, lemonora - that they weren't proper stones but the vitamin supplement. It should be fine for them, then, although I would sift out some of the oats. You can keep them in a separate container and give a few as a treat if you wanted to.

You are very welcome. I understand your frustration with living in an area where the basics that we often take for granted are not available. I'm happy to help you out where I can.
