He usually does this when I take him out... Does this mean he's afraid of me, is he tired or is he having troubles breathing? He's usually back to normal with no clicking when I put him back in his cage so I'm worried he's still a bit afraid of me. Just confused cause he also gets really close to me and climbs up my arm to my shoulder and usually does this with my hair and my earring (I wear dangling earrings at home for this sole purpose, so he can play with it when he is on my shoulder)... I hope he's not afraid of me still! But if he is, what should I do?

If you are referring to the beak clicking that is a sign of contentment and they do it when they are relaxed. I don't think he is afraid of you...lol.

That makes me feel better because sometimes I remember him panting when I just got him and I wasn't sure of it was the same. I've only recently gotten him to step up on my finger and out of the cage... So I'm not sure if he's afraid of how close I am to him or something. 😅

No not afraid of you but it does sound like he may have a slight "click" that you may need to get checked out with an avian vet

No not afraid of you but it does sound like he may have a slight "click" that you may need to get checked out with an avian vet Ahhh!! Is it urgent? It's Saturday night in Australia and there are no avian vets open on a Sunday near me, and Monday is also a public holiday... Should I just go to a regular vet tomorrow? Or to one of those 24hr emergency vets? He only does it sometimes, like right now he isn't doing it...

No not that urgent but it will need to be checked out sooner rather than later for some antibiotics It could be a respiratory infection, but if you catch it early it should be ok

I will defer to the more knowledgeable here but it did sound like beak grinding to me but I'm no expert. Sam does this when she is sitting with me as well and she is not sick at all.

I can't get any sound out of either video, but he is sitting still with no tail-bobbing in the second video, so I doubt if he is ill. He looks perfectly happy. Of course a vet visit would set your mind at rest.
