How does everyone's birds like to bathe? I always feel that 'budgie baths' look too small for spreading wings and splashing about.
Munchy isn't much of a bather. Where I am currently, we now have a walk in shower in a wet room, so I just let him roam about on the floor with a Kevin and he'll sometimes decide to come in and splash about by my feet, which is adorable.
I'm hoping with a new little one that offering a bath early on will encourage them. I'm just trying to figure out what sort of size dish I should use, whether to put leaves in, whether I should get one of those cat water fountains that I've sometimes seen budgies using (because Munchy seems to prefer running water at least)? There's so much choice of things to try.

With Sam, I just put a cereal bowl with greens in it and about an inch of water and she took right to it. now she actuallyflies over to me when I am at the sink to let me know that she wants a bath...lol.

Don't you just love to watch a budgie have a good bath? Sam is so cute too.
I just put a casserole dish lid on top of their cage with tepid water in and a piece of basil to encourage if they haven't bathed before. Usually it works.

A pie dish works well too, Ira. I agree, those things they sell as a budgie bath are a waste of money. Stupid little things.

She is just a sweetheart.
I use a glass casserole dish too with some basil.

Mine used a clear pie dish, also a double cat feeding bowl and a little green boat intended as a budgie bath. It's been a while since I enticed them to bathe though as the ones that liked splashing about have passed away, except for Blithe and he wont bathe alone.
Sometimes Lucy will bathe in her water bowl, but it's been a while since she did that too.
But some of them do writhe about in wet dill or basil.

We dispense with the bath altogether and let them shimmy up against basil leaves whilst I spray mist them Found an old video of the old boys having a go
