Hello. My budgie girl is being treated for scaly mites and also getting fungus medicine. Before being treated with this she finished an antibiotics treatment. Also I am keeping her extra warm as the vet recommended. She has these mites and some blockige in the cere. No respitory sounds but bobs her tail. Now since the treatments all started the is looking so much worse (she never looked bad at all) and keeps getting thinner and thinner. Is this normal? She has only finished 4 days of 14.

What is the fungus medication and what is it for? In what form is the scaly mite treatment that you were giving?
It is not good to see any bird lose weight and appear worse once treatment has begun, so I would take your concerns back to your vet. Sometimes it can take a while before the meds appear to be doing their job, but your case does sound extreme. It leaves your budgie with no reserves to help fight off the infections. Ask your vet about adding probiotics to her diet as well.

I will thank you. The mite medicine I don't have the name of. I got 2 seringes (don't know how to spell it) with something to squirt at the back of her neck with a week apart and the other medicine is called diflucan (fluconazol). She gets shortness of breath when flying, bobs her tail with her breath and has these nazal clicks. No one seems to be able to tell what is wrong except for the mites. So everything else is experimental

Well, I hope your vet is able to get to the bottom of the problem.
Does your bird have access to an iodine block? A clicking noise on breathing can be due to hypothyroidism, but an iodine block is usually enough to give them what they need.

I put รก pink block in her cage 5 days ago when I threw a white one out because of the scaly mites. Could the pink one be iodine block? I ask because all the birds got one but she is the only one covered in it. She is pink now ๐

It could be the thing she was lacking.

It could be the thing she was lacking. Agree. If she has hit it hard, it could be just the thing she is needing.

Thank you for your comments ๐ Last night I weight her and she was just over 31 grams and had gained a few milligrams. Not a lot but I think at least she has stopped loosing weight. She is much to skinny still but her energy level is up and she is jumping, climbing and flying all over her cage and making noises. I was wondering of it was ok to let her eat a bit more of millet spray to gain weight?

She is quite light, so yes by all means give her the millet spray.

Your photo is showing her as a typical curious little hen. Fingers crossed for a full recovery. A little hard-boiled egg or dried eggfood will help her get her weight and energy levels back up as well.

Fluconazol is usually treatment for avian gastric yeast hence the weight loss
Get her fed as much as you can however avoid anything sweet such as fruits or anything with honey or sugars in
