Im seeking information about suppressed male hormones.
Bonded, conditioned pair of age (courtship displays including regurgitating), nest is fully complete, male sings, female presentation (constantly)... but the male never mounts.
Instead he looks rather confused and tries to regurgitate instead (which she declines as her vent is palpitating, with tail in the air and wings fluffed out with her adorable little coo's). The ritual happens multiple times a day.
After a minute, the female then gets frustrated and goes in her nest, the male perches outside the nest and proceeds to do this mating song/dance in fully display (multiple times) and stands 'guard' until she comes out and he feeds her, grooms her, and eats with her.
I considered stress as a cause as well, but its quite perplexing for an experienced breeder- so I am reaching out to see if anyone have any incite or links to literature that discusses such issues.
Thank you again in the future

I'm not sure any one on this forum is going to be able to help you with this issue, but perhaps try contacting a budgie breeder's association?
