Hello there. I've had my budgie for about 4 months now and based on its characteristics when I got it, my research suggested that it was at least 3 or so months old at the time since it didn't have stripes between the top of its head and its cere, which would make it around 7 or so months old now if my estimation was accurate. Its cere has always been light blue with white around the nostrils, so I have been assuming it was a girl, but I was told it would become pink or brown upon reaching sexual maturity at 6 months old if that was the case, which hasn't happened. In fact, it seems to have gotten more blue, but not quite as blue as the males I usually see online. I could use some opinions.

Definitely a hen. the cere doesn't always immediately go brown at 6 months.

Yes to being a hen, and to add to Marianne Marlow's comment, some hens never get a crusty brown cere, some hens never lose theirs.

Thought so, have been referring to her as a girl, just didn't want to find out I was wrong later. Thanks for the help.
