Those of you that remember Shirley and John, will recall Shirley was an avid fighter: She was the Mike Tyson of the aviary. John was and still is a romeo, serenading anyone who will listen, currently it's Frank. So you can imagine what Quentin, their Son, is like - a fighting romancer.
He was in last week as he had a bleeding foot. There was a big dribble of blood inside the aviary sleeping quarters. My hair on end I frantically searched looking who was hurt, appeared it was Mr. Quentin.
Already inside are Tom and Mabel, the latter can't cope with winter in the aviary anymore no matter how hot the heating in there is. Also, there is Agatha and Ralph, Agatha is the one with a current squeak so she's on meds.
To complicate, Quentin lost Cecile some weeks ago and has since given his attention to Agatha who has been quite enjoying it. Ralph is that laid back he's sharing Agatha with Quentin, so no fighting there.
However, Agatha is inside so Quentin is back to square one.
When he went back out last week after his foot healed I noticed Ivy take an interest and they did a bit of beak banging and she was following him about. This would be PERFECT. Ivy is such a lovely little budgie, very quiet and has only ever let Heathcliffe feed her a couple of times years ago. I sometimes wonder if she is happy or not and it saddens me. So I was delighted when I saw this happening.
The fighting romancer has decided he wants to sing to Bridgette though, who is with Rupert. She has zero interest in Quentin and his songs and is getting mad at him pestering her. Today we have another bleeding foot, Quentin's. I don't know if it was Rupert or Bridgette who bit him but he was still at it being a pest even with a bleeding foot. So he's back inside in a cage by himself swinging on a swing.
He's in the same room as Tom and Mabel so he has company albeit a different cage.
For this that followed this lengthy post I will upload some pictures tomorrow of them so you have faces to names
