First day back at uni after Christmas hols, mind-numbingly boring. Walking home in the rain, thinking that Munchy and Peri would both be in bed and I’d have to go and clean up after them yet again (such days at uni don’t do my mental health any favours). Wondering whether Munchy would have been okay without me acquiring Peri, as he’s used to being a single bird and even though my grandparents were around they didn’t interact with him massively, though at least I don’t need to worry that he might be feeling alone now. I’ll never know, really, might just take a while to decide whether it was the best choice for me, though the best choice for him should be more important. Anyway, I got up the stairs to my room, remembered that I’d left the light on that morning because I’d left when it was still reasonably dull out and the day didn’t look likely to improve. Lo and behold, the budgies are not in their cage. No. They’re sat on the shelf of the desk the cage stands on, next to the clear plastic box that the toys are in, and appear to have been there for some time judging by the number of droppings scattered on the surface. All because Munchy had spotted one of his Kevins in the box and went to sit beside it, and Peri decided to stay sat next to him. So I got the Kevin out for him and Munchy then spent well over an hour running around the floor with it, with Peri in hot pursuit and getting in the way of Munchy telling Kevin that he loves him. Amusing end to a dull day.

That's a great way to end a dull old day. I can easily picture that scene - Peri chasing a Munchy chasing a Kevin. The icing on the cake is the vocalizing on Munchy's part.

Munchy threw the Kevin the other day and it landed on Peri's neck and rolled down his back!

I grew up with my grandparents so I do at least know of Benny Hill, skysmum! And now the chase music is playing in my head!

They were at it again this morning. Peri tried copying Munchy playing with the ball and they started having a squabble. On the downside, Peri the chewer discovered a power cable. Going to have to rethink where they run, but have hidden them for now. This is the problem with having to have everything in my bedroom. I'm looking forward to having my own place so I can have a room that's completely budgie-safe. Meanwhile, Munchy's as lush and trusting as ever. After I'd disturbed them from their play by warning Peri away from the cable, Munchy was sat on my hand enjoying scritches. I thought I felt a lump on his neck, so slipped my hand around him, picked him up, had a good feel of both sides of his neck, determined that there was nothing there and released him. We were immediately back to chatting and scritches as if nothing had happened.

What a beautiful looking budgie! I'm still trying to work out who or what Kevin is though?
