I was at a kids party yesterday, and one little girl had a bad cough.
I hope you’ll be better soon

Another friend has come down with Covid even though she had both vaccine shots. She does wear a mask out but she's been very active going various places. She said her symptoms are like a very bad cold. She did get a positive test at her dr's. Just another caution to be careful.

I went into London last Saturday to meet 3 from work. We were in spaced hotel restaurant. Then one went home and we went to a bar. I was in a corner, away from most. Two got covid on Tuesday/Wednesday. My lateral flow negative, but I did pcr and yep, I have covid. Knew I felt rubbish this aftn for a reason.
The tube, half weren’t masked. I’m cross with a) myself for going onto a bar and b) all those not caring what they spread

Oh no, hope you only have mild symptoms ffiscool. It’s probably much harder to decide when you’re actually out with friends and having a good time whether to go home or stay on and enjoy yourself for a bit longer. I’d be annoyed with myself too but hindsight is a marvellous thing and there’s no point beating yourself up over it. Just concentrate on getting yourself better. Out of interest, do they inform you what variant you have when you do a PCR?

I’d been so careful since day 1. I’d had the booster, it is what it is. I suppose too, not having been exposed to loads of germs for so long, I was bound to catch even a cold.
Thank you, I’m hoping no worse than now.
No, whether or not they say on my notes or when they call, not sure.
My last day of work next Wednesday, I hope I’ll be online for that.

Considering the government has said all contacts of those with the Omicron variant have to self-isolate too, how do they know if the PCR result doesn’t state it?
I’m the same as you and been really careful and had my booster and flu jab but I don’t think I’ve really relaxed about it, even with life appearing to have gone almost back to normal for the rest of the family within their jobs and social lives. They really should enforce the wearing of masks on the tube, but I’m not sure how they can police it. I allow my sons and daughter’s partners into the house but that’s it. I’m quite happy to stay in a state of perpetual lockdown as I’m such a little hermit. I’d worry myself silly if any of my family caught it.
Really hope you can be better in time for your last day. Stay warm and as well as possible.

I reckon I’ll know if I hear more. They send a form you have to complete about where you’ve been and who with. I was out on 27th but it only lets me say where I was from 29th. Massive flaw! How can they know what’s what.
Anyway I could get past that bit. So no tracing of people.
I’m sure they’ll call at some point.
I wasn’t happy about the tube, but really thought more would have masks. Not that I got it there, I don’t think as one girl had symptoms, also thinking a cold, on Tuesday. In a way, as long as this is mild, I’m ok about it. At least then my body might make more antibodies.
I’m not too bothered about Wednesday but makes life easier as need to organise them collecting my laptop and work hardware

ariella When I had covid back in July, I wasn't told what one it was, they had the first one and the delta one doing the rounds at that time. ffiscool, hope you're okay and it's not too bad. I had to fill in a thing online about who I had see, but I had not been anywhere at all in the week previous. Also they called about 10 times to just reiterate the same information, it seemed pointless, so I blocked the number in the end as I was trying to rest and get better (as much as you can when you have to look after a toddler)

I would have filled it out if I could. Ah, I assumed they’d say. I might be an Omicron statistic lol
Thank you - it really will do me a favour if I don’t fancy eating lol
I had quite a bit today, in case. One of the other girls said she’s hungry too.
I can’t imagine when you feel crap, having a toddler.
Well if they phone that often, I’ll block it too

It all sounds so badly managed. I had no idea they kept phoning. I’d be fuming if I was sleeping a lot and kept being woken ( I can’t imagine how you coped with a toddler either Marianne Marlow). It’s good that lucozade is gluten free now Marianne. I remember when it used to be made with Barley. I had to have gestational diabetes tests at 28 weeks with all my four children as I had polyhydramnios and for the first three literally given a bottle of Lucozade to drink, but when I was expecting my fourth I had been diagnosed coeliac so they had to get glucose sugar and mix it into water instead.

It is badly done. So basically I can’t say where I was that day. Also the calls take up the person who makes them, their valuable time. My niece said they did offer her support if she needed
Was seeing my family tmrw, well half as one great nephew has covid. As it’s Chanukah. Other niece is going to my brother so we’ll have 3 homes on zoom watching the kids unwrap - bummer missing the tea and cake though

Ridiculous really. As you say, that’s a serious flaw.
Happy Chanukah to you. Have you got a menorah? I love how all festivals at this time of year are very much celebrations full of light - Christmas, Yule, Chanukah, Kwanza, Bodhi Day, etc. Hope you all have a lovely zoom call.

Thank you. I do have one but it’s ornamental. I’ve never really done it, but my niece’s kids do. I’ve always been a Christmas person.
We managed it last year in between lockdowns. We normally are with one niece’s in-laws too. I make cup cakes normally
Yes it is all fascinating. Makes me wonder who was first that it then caught on in other religions, if you know what I mean
