Meet Charlie. He's a rehomed budgie from Sue today  Charlie is 3 years old and loves his little lantern, he has a new one and loves that just the same. He makes little chirp noises at it and bashes it a lot! I have covered him slightly to get him used to his new surroundings slowly. I have been talking to him softly and blinking at him. He blinked back a short while ago and fluffed himself up and shook when I called him a pretty boy. Hopefully this is a good sign and means he's settling in nicely. He's in a quarantine cage for 30 days, this should be standard for all new birds. The photos are a bit distant and blurry because I did not want to startle him.   |

He is a lucky budgie to find a new home in budgie paradise!!!

Charlie certainly does love his lantern. He spends a lot of the day bashing it lol. Quite funny to watch at times. ;D

I hope this is a good result all round. Is the beak trimming something you will learn to do, Marianne? Will have to find out why the beak is long. Who knows with an iodine block and things to nibble on, he might not need a beak trim But if I need to then I can learn to do it. |

Well Charlie had a good nights sleep and he's had some seed and water. He's busy bashing away at the lantern and making cute noises. My lot occasionally call out to him and he makes noises back.

I'm really pleased Charlies had a good night. I'm surprised how quiet it is here without him. I might be imagining it, but I think the cat might be missing him too. ;D |
