Budgerigar World Editor Terry Tuxford, Resigns
I wish to announce to all the subscribers, the readership of Budgerigar World Magazine and to the hobby in general, that I am now no longer Editor of BW after editing and writing 245 Editions over a period of more than 20 years and since taking over from Gerald Binks. I sincerely regret having to have made this decision since a point was reached some time ago far beyond what any normal Editor of a magazine could have been expected to endure; not having been paid since November 2008. I have now, after many months of frustration, decided to inform the hobby that I have resigned.
Many subscribers will be staggered that I continued for so long without my agreed salary, given this unfortunate situation, but I felt that my wife Yvonne and I, would have taken the full criticism of the hobby had I not done so rather than where the full responsibility of the problems lie namely with owners of the company led by Gwyn H Evans, Editorial Director.
The Hobby World-wide has as of February 2012, still only received their May 2011 Edition, a cause of great personal embarrassment to myself, but over which I have no control whatsoever. Mr Evans has total control and sole responsibility for finalising the Editorial content, publishing, distribution and subscription management of BW.
My resignation followed a Court Action against Mr Evans for non payments of salaries since 2008, at Wrexham County Court, North Wales in 2011, The claim dated 19th April,2011 states, “Full judgement was found in favour of the Claimant, T. A. Tuxford. The Defendant, G. H. Evans, showed no real prospect of successfully defending the claim”, as stated on the General Form of Judgement or Order. G. H. Evans was ordered to pay the Judgement Debt.” Such payments have still not been fully met.
In conclusion, I feel that we have sustained our full credibility within the hobby, and far beyond what could normally have been expected of us. I am also very concerned that there has not been a Statement issued by Budgerigar World to its subscribers from the Company, to which I feel they are fully entitled. Again this is the responsibility of G. H. Evans, to whom all enquiries should be made. They should be addressed direct to the County Press, Bala, North Wales offices, as listed in your magazine.
