Hi, my beautiful little boy Kobe died tragically yesterday afternoon he was a hand raised busgie who just ruled the house and loved playing on the floor with his toys my partner was in the bathroom and somehow accidently trod on him my partner loved him like a son and Kobe was besotted with him used to say hello dad every morning and go everywhere with him. My partner is absolutely grief and guilt stricken and I have never seen him so upset we feel like we have lost a family member he was just over a year old and the happiest little character. I have not stopped crying and can't comprehend the pain I feel nor imagine my life without him he made my day every day I couldn't go to work am just beside myself and don't know how to deal with the pain

Oh Pamela I am so sorry that you lost little Kobe and in such a terrible way.
Our thoughts are with you.

I am so very sorry to hear about Kobe. It's a cliche I know, but time really does heal. Hopefully it will not be too long before you can replace the memory of this tragic accident with happy memories of the good life you gave him & all the love he gave you in return. Fly high little one.
My Birds My Foods & Supplements Always treat your pets as family members. We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures (Quran 21:107) There is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing (Quran 6:38)

Oh dear how awful for you! There are so many dangers to be aware of if we allow our budgies to fly free indoors, I think I'd spend more time than I have looking to make sure they were okay! Mine have always been caged and are none the worse for it. In my opinion it isn't a bad thing to keep budgies caged because they have plenty of flying space and toys (as well as each other for company).
So sorry to hear of your loss:( You must both be feeling awful:( You are in good company here with people who really understand how much a little budgie can mean to you and how attatched we can get to them. I know it probably doesn't help now to say it, but time will pass and you will start to feel better and remember the happy times. I hope your loss won't put you off having another budgie. You've obviously been very caring owners and can still give a wonderful home to another bird or 2. Accidents unfortunately happen in life, but you both need to remember that you gave Kobe a quality of life that many budgies never enjoy and he will have appreciated it in the happy way that budgies do. Take care x
