It should just be a case of cropping the top and bottom to the correct aspect ratio, looking at that photo, suesbird. I no longer have anything for picture editting but if Sam does it probably won't take more than 30 seconds. At the request of blueelephant, my submission if you need an extra:

Far too hard to choose a favourite picture (it's like picking a favourite child!) so here are three. I think this one would crop ok to landscape. This one just makes my heart melt but not sure how well it would crop.
Evidence they are occasionally nice to one another! I could send a higher resolution version of any of them if chosen. Edit - Barney is the olive green and Finlay is the grey.

It says at beginning of post that photos are to be original size and landscape, so I am not sure if cropping is allowed? Anyone know?

This is not cropped but was a portrait photo I’ve switched to landscape. Is it suitable for the specifications? Made me realise I take so many photos in portrait of the buds. It’s of Louie and Luca as fluffy babies. ❤️

suesbird ladybirdIt is better if they are taken as landscape but if they can be amended from portrait to landscape then that is fine too. Reason I said I would rather have the original is so I have more to play with if they do need to be cropped to arrange them better. If they are portrait and need cropping you must consider what gets chopped off from top and bottom of the picture. As if we take off too much it can compromise the picture. And we have to take into account where the spiral bound bit and hole at the top of the calendar doesn't cut into the budgies head too. Hope that answers your questions

I wouldn’t be offended at all if it’s just not going to be suitable to be considered. It gives us a better idea of how to ‘frame’ the photo we’re taking so thanks for the info samwiseg .

I love that the budgie calendar seems to have become a yearly fixture on the forum. I won’t be contributing any pics this year but I will definitely want to buy a copy!
