I'm trying to figure out which part of Indie's legs we can see now. It's covered in feathers. But of course the 'naked' part is all foot and ankle. They're cute regardless. The part we can see on all birds is what we would call from the knee down. Their thighs are right up near their bodies, and they stand on their tippy toes, with the first joint up from their feet actually being their ankle, and when they are all relaxing and down low, they are almost on their heals. I got the bird’s leg anatomy lesson from a vet when I called the ankle joint an elbow. . Silly me, because you can’t wear your pantaloons on your arms! Of course not!

Oh right, I suppose it is. My mind didn't jump there as a vegetarian! It went here: I have never heard legs called drumsticks before! I know you don’t eat meat, but is the top part of a chicken leg not called a drumstick in the UK?

I don't want to hijack this thread, but, my friend gave me a website the other week with lots of sweets from when she and I were young, think they're under the "retro" section, brought back so many memories. onepoundsweets.com/
