Spent all morning nauseous and now the antisickness medicine has given me a funny head.
But on a more entertaining note, there's a pigeon in the linen cupboard.

Obv I have no idea what you’re able to take, given the antibiotics etc. I get nauseous so easily on meds. What they gave me with sepsis (still an infection, so might be ok if you’re not already on them), Moxifloacin and Doxycycline. I’m allergic to penicillin. They made me feel woozy but that’s all. Sickness, only thing that works for me is Stugeron 50mg. Whatever is in that, works without the bad head. Stemetil does nothing to help, for me.
I hope you feel better soon, nausea is the worst.
Pigeon, lol - bet that was a shock

So sorry the meds are not sitting well with you but hopefully they'll work and you'll be off them quickly.
For the pigeon in the cupboard, ask him if he's heard of the delicacy known as squab and offer him a way out of your house.

I spent most of the afternoon asleep, Marianne Marlow, woke up once for a cup of tea and then again when dinner arrived. I can normally pack away food but I couldn't even manage the bread with my soup. Had a wash, so I feel clean at last. The consultant wants me to have some more IV antibiotics because I hadn't had many doses when she reviewed me, and she wants the infection to stop oozing and be dried up too. But I hope that tomorrow they'll swap me to orals because it feels like my cannula is starting to get a bit dodgy and I'd like to avoid a new one. I also clarified what my discharge advice from last week meant by 'not lifting heavy objects for a while'. Turns out it's anything at least as heavy as a kettleful of water for 4-6 weeks. Surgical trays are quite hefty. So me thinks I'll be off work a little while yet. But when I talked to my manager for advice she fold me not to come back until I'm 100%, so I feel like I have permission to semi-forget about work and just recover now. OH sent me photos and videos of the budgies. It was so good to see them out of the cage again.

I've met a few like that. When I last stayed in hospital, in March, a nurse had the cheek to cover my legs because the woman opposite had a male visitor. She said "men are here" cover yourself. So I uncovered my legs immediately. It's a female ward, he can just $$$$$$ look away. Just putting it out there, tonight's nurse needs an attitude transplant.

When my second son was born, the midwife sent me out of the room with newborn Matthew so the doctor could attend to his mum. In the corridor outside, a very abrasive older nurse told me off for holding a newborn baby in the hospital corridor instead of staying in the room.

Hopefully you can be switched to oral but I reckon they’ll keep you at a least another day. Yes, it helps when you’re told to stay off until 100%.
I also had one, who was to sit with a lady with dementia. All I can say is, she must have been nice when interviewing for that position. She was really lacking in everything the lady needed. I’d encountered a few years before too, spraying perfume in a ‘breathing’ issue ward.

As long as I can have orals and not have to worry about the cannula going I don't mind staying. It's crazy how some nurses are. So much for a caring profession. Marianne Marlow, pdetty sure he was more concerned with the woman he was visiting than eyeing up the other patients! It's like when people complain about women breastfeeding in public. Just don't look. This one insisted that Gaviscon be prescribed before I could have it, then never bothered to get it done, so I just got someone from home to smuggle me some of the Renees from our medicine basket. I feel like a naughty child and it's great.

Cannulas are a pain. Have you tried Deflatine, I find them more effective. When I was in hospital last time, I refused to give them the meds I had on me, stugeron, paracetamol.
