Sorry I can't help with the mutation. Budgie babies are so cute and your little guy looks so sweet!

One of the very knowledgeable people is very busy working on a house. Hang in here and hopefully she'll answer soon.

He is absolutely gorgeous. I love the grey and blue together. Sorry I can’t help with the mutation either. Maybe Ira could have a look as she is often good at mutations?

He isn’t just grey, I suggest that he has at least one violet factor, and he is definitely opaline. Mauve, perhaps? They do tend to appear different in colouring depending on the light.

Ooh, no, I'm not that good Ariella. And this one's potentially a challenge.
I'd agree with Hezz, the markings look opaline to me.
Greys should have black tails, I do believe, so if it's a more purplish/deep blue colour then that would suggest mauve rather than grey, I should think, although if the little guy has other mutations going on in there too then who knows.
What colour are his cheek patches? In some photos they look very grey to me and in others they look a bit more colourful. Are they blue, grey, or a very dark blue/purple to you in the feather, as it were?

Thank you all for your answers I will take some more photos on morning light cause my lightbulbs are yellow and yes his fethers change colors depending on lighting on low lights he is gray on daylight blueish almost violet. His tail on the begining is violet and turns in the black as it goes down. As I said I will take more pics right now.

There definitely seems to be a violet tint there. I've taken some photos of my violet skyblue opaline and grey green to show their tails and cheek patches. Though the colours may not show too well. I used the camera flash for the one where the blue looks a brighter colour. I don't know if those will help at all. I have no normals to compare with.

To me his colouring is very similar to my avatar budgie. He was a mauve.
