My swings are small, she might be used to sleeping closer to the bars. Or maybe she just likes being a bat. Gwen's named after Spider-Gwen for similar reasons. Only 25 more days to go!

Smudge had been dangling upside-down for quite some time. I could tell that by the droppings that had collected around her vent. Sensible girl soon got rid of them though.
The pair are now beak-grinding on the sky snake having feasted on weighstation millet. Smudge 37g, Boba 53g.

Okay, those are much better weights. I might get a new set of scales today and see what the difference is between the two sets.

Weighing machines don't last long, I've noticed. I had bought kitchen scales previously but found them pretty hopeless. I now use a pair of parrot-weighing scales I bought from Northern Parrot. They are pretty good but after a few months, I'm starting to see a 1g difference for a 50g-plus budgie between the two sets of measurements. Not awful but slightly annoying.

I have the same scales as you, and they're questionable at this point.

I can now report that the answer to the original question is, Yes, the quarantine is broken I can't even blame the new girls for this. The sheer ingenuity and sneakiness of Mr Hibs & Loric cannot be overstated. You think you know a budgie (Hibsy) and then they go and surprise you.

I heard the boys flying around on the other side of the door as usual then they went quiet. By this time I was requiring a loo break and as they had kept me penned in the room for some time, it was becoming urgent. I opened the door, keeping an eye behind me to ensure the girls didn't jailbreak and then peered around the corner expecting to see the boys on one of the shelves as usual. As a result, I missed the fact that the sneaky lads were running around on the carpet. I registered them too late and was slow to start closing the door. The lads flew in, one after the other. I was lulled into a false sense of security, thought the threat was the girls trying to sneak out, the boys had changed tactics & I was needing the loo ... a perfect storm. That's my story, Officer!
I'd like to think I would have been more careful with quarantine subjects whose health I wasn't sure of - I've never had a slip-up before - but I cannot help but feel concern over this kind of thing happening with my previous new birbs, whose health histories I was unsure of. I'm not happy I lost control of this situation, even if it is unlikely to prove hazardous to the Flock.
I could still have quarantined the four birds who had contact with each other, if I had felt it necessary.

Well, the best laid plans of mice and men and all that The best plan would have involved replacing the current bedroom door with a SCIF door
