I don’t miss ‘silent’ crickets!! You could bet your bottom dollar that there would always be one non-silent one in the tub! When my two eldest boys were teens they had 2 geckos, a European tree frog, a whites tree frog and a pair of Green tree frogs. All were fascinating to watch and the frogs calling whenever I hoovered was just brilliant fun, especially the first time. I appreciate keeping exotics and the care and knowledge needed to keep them well. I would have loved a chameleon at the time as I find them so fascinating and beautiful and I loved Amazonian Milk frogs but it was the live food that stopped me from indulging. The amount of times a cricket escaped… Gut-loading the live feed is something many people don’t realise also. I have to admit I would pop the crickets to be fed into a tiny tub with a lid on for dusting with their powder and I’d sometimes give it a good shake so they were left a bit dizzy and dazed as I disliked seeing them scampering around trying to hide from their prey. So I made it a bit easier for them…soft or what?! It was a fascinating time and exotics have always been a part of our lives for a long time, but I don’t miss having them now. Live food is not something I’d want to be doing. Luna is beautiful and Tommy is very lucky and dedicated to own such a beautiful pet. Well done for being such a good Nan!

Sorry I missed all this stuff about the lovely Luna. The feeding times would have put me off too skysmum, but hey ho, a girls got to eat. Well done to your Daughter and Tommy, it is something I feel all children should be taught before owning an animal, is how to take proper care of it. How is the new little pup doing? Sorry if you have a thread somewhere else on the forum skysmum, but I know you had bought a new little one just before I went AWOL.

It’s been a challenge, hardest first year I’ve ever had with a dog, she’s a true blue Jack that’s for sure but she will be 2 at the end of December and is settling down well now, she’s a cuddly one, loves a cuddle 🥰

I'll bet she's not short of cuddles in your house skysmum. My Brothers wee dog Buddy is the same, and I'm delighted to oblige 😂

There is nothing like it JB, a good walk and a cuddle, my exercise and blood pressure treatment all in a fluffy package 😁
The buds are therapeutic too but you can’t walk or cuddle one 😂
