How do you clean them?
I've just soaked mine in boiling water, then used some washing up liquid to wash, and rinsed well. But..... they stink! And there's still bits of dirt/dust etc. stuck in the twists of the rope.

Hi As you say, most unhygienic. I used plastic garden hose. Easier to keep clean & its only for playing on, not roosting. Yours B.J.

I soak mine in hot water and an avian disinfectant called F10 then, if its a nice day, I put it outside on a table to dry naturally. You could try giving it a good scrub but you might end up wrecking it. Rope perches are annoying to keep clean but budgies really like them

Wash with soap and warm water and disinfect with F10SC.

Oops - I stick mine inthe washing machine is that wrong? No. I think it will wash it better but still disinfection is recommended.

Phew - can I soak it in Milton (baby bottle sterilizer?). I normally soak all the feeder pots, perches, mirrors etc in that once a week and then dip a microfibre cloth in the water to wipe the bars.

Sorry I have not used Milton Disinfectant and don't know anything about it. Maybe someone will tell you about it. But there are others as well. I have used this for a while when I didn't have F10. It's for £2.85 only.

Milton can be used for any of your cleaning/disinfecting of bird things.
I wash mine in normal old dish-washing liquid and then rinse in a dilute white vinegar solution.

Is this the one? Are there different types or just the one?

Not sure, BB. My babies got the boob, not the bottle, so I never had to go there.
