Sorry yes, that is the iodine block Sweetpea!!
I think she only has 3-4 on that side and about the same on the other. She's a weird flier as it is. She hops upwards when she takes off, not like the others!

Hope Abbie will be ok Marianne - if its any consolation, Mont used to feel quite insecure when she was in moult because of losing a few wing feathers. Think they just need a bit more nourishment a reduced exercise. Am sure she will be back to her normal mischievous self in no time

I haven't seen any of my budgies loose this much flight feathers during molt. Normally they loose one or two. Some birds have a heavy molt after a few normal ones. I hope this is the case with Abbie. Do you see anything unusual with Abbie, or if you feel the lower side of her wings with fingers?

Perhaps Abbie wants to massarge your foot Marianne.......... they can do that when they get breathless, and soon recover

That is great BB. Marianne, I think every so often they do lose the odd flight feather more than normal, and if as you say she isn't the most elegant flier, she may have to work harder at staying in the air. Smudge does, whereas Sparky is effortless. So I would just up the egg and keep an eye on her. I know with Smudge, if she doesn't take off well she has trouble getting a lot of height, and if she has to turn a corner as well, she seems to lose height again. May have been the case for Abbie - an awkward fly, plus a few missing feathers and down she went. She certainly is looking a bit scruff in that photo.

I keep having to offer the stick to Abbie and take her places when she lands on the floor. I seem to be her personal travel service now!
Poor little thing. Don't think she likes relying on me.
How long will it take for her flights to regrow?
