BB, with a good diet and lots of variety, I have to ask, why do you need multivitamins? To put it rather crudely, the western world has the most expensive urine of all. Why? Because most of what people take in the way of vitamins and supplements is totally unnecessary and overdosing the body, that most of what is taken is extracted by the kidneys and discarded. Passed out in the urine. I do understand vegetarians have different needs and you were asking about supplements that meet "vegos' " needs, so I am guessing they aren't for you? Also what suits one person may not help another, as our bodies don't function exactly the same as the next person's. One person may have problems absorbing a particular vit or mineral, whereas another will need something totally different. I, personally, don't have a lot of faith in multi -supplements as our needs are so different. Except maybe in the case of someone being treated for a specific condition where their doctor has recommended multi-vits to supplement their diet. I don't intend this as a criticism, it is only my personal opinion, but more as food for thought.

I am not a choosy eater so food is not an issue at all, overeating is though ;D. And you are exactly right Hezz that multivitamin supplements cannot be a first choice for body needs. I don't take it daily. It's just for the days when diet is reduced to half to loose weight. Muslims are not allowed to eat pork in any form so I am looking for vegetarian variant to avoid gelatin.

Of course, silly me! *Head slap* I should have woken up to that myself! Thanks for setting me straight, BB. More flying time required for you, BB.

How's the diet going BB? We're waiting for the 'Before" and "After" pics, lol! It's OK on weekdays but it's impossible on weekends as either we are invited somewhere or someone is invited at our place. But I managed to loose 5 KGs in one month

Flying time is working then! Well done you! If you are eating at home on weekends you can always go the lean feeds way. With options for those who want heavier or richer foods too - you don't have to blow your diet completely. My husband has a very long family history of heart disease which he is trying to control by diet and exercise. His last ditch attempt before the doctors put him on meds, so I am often finding that I am cooking two different meals - one for the boys (who need some fat in their diet, and both thin as rakes) and one for OH with me partaking in whichever I fancy at the time. Is this not an option for you too? I know there are many cultures where feeding = nurturing = loving, but I am sure that wasn't meant to be taken to the extent of feeding you into your grave!!!

Thanks Hezz Feeding = nurturing = loving, is best done by mothers here. They still think that it's the best way to take care of their children, young or old alike. Most will encourage, some even force them to eat heavy stuff like butter, cream, fat made from clarified butter and so on. The classic one is; "Eat this. It is good. You will see it's benefits when you are old". Uneducated wives still have the same thoughts. But the educated ones know what's good and what's not. The thing worked for me was to drop wheat, rice and sugars in any form. But it's difficult to avoid that on weekends unless we are going to buffets. Fridays are off from work and mostly off from kitchens as well

Mothers are the worst offenders. Because sometimes it is the only way they know, God love them!
