I was researching and came across this information Is this true . Iv'e been planning on getting a mix of charcoal and oaster shell grit next week. but this has worried me

I personally would'nt feed it Ryan,but i do char the ends of my perches,to keep mites off them,i have noticed the birds don't chew where they have been chared

I only use charcoal if needed, Ryan. It means very seldom if there is a runny droppings from a reason (however, I serve it always only for a few days). Remember that charcoal can take water excessively from a bird's organism.

I know Barrie's budgies have access to charcoal. It will be interesting to know his views on this.

I think i will stick to my grit mix from the pet shop (it has small quantities of charcoal in it) and let the birds choose if they want it . Thanks too all who voiced their opinion it has really helped me get a understanding .
