That's right. And now some pesky malware criminal has deprived us of it ...

It happened to me a while ago too, Rose, when I went looking for something. Now I just avoid it if it is an option offered for a particular thing I am looking for. I am not running the risk, if there is one.

So I thought maybe someone had sorted things out ... Then I tried again and back where we were!

I've just read through this thread having joined this forum only a few days back. I am sure I stumbled upon the old forum when searching for a site like this one. I stopped dead when I saw the warning not knowing whether to risk it or not. Would it be Google generating the warning or some one//thing else? I think my internet security would prevent me from opening the old site if there were an imminent risk of damage. If the worst came to the worst my PC shuts off and re-starts again to prevent damaging downloads... (happened just once in the past). Being the nosy sort I might just ignore the warning and give it a go. I may be gone for sometime so if you don't hear from me send out a search party. ;D
Update........ the warning is still in place and Google give this explanation for their actions: Google's information pageIt seems that the "owner" of the site (webmaster) can request an investigation. I decided to stay clear........ for now.

I wouldn't go near the old forum as it is at the moment. I think this often happens to sites if they are not maintained. Bad people start putting malware and the like on them, or even things like pornography. I'd hate to think what is on there. It's a great shame. It is so full of wonderful resources.

Absolutely, stace - it's such a shame ...
And I love your spirit of adventure, learner, but your pc might not feel the same!

I've had my old crate of a machine shut down on me once in the past but it booted straight back up again... even so I've lots to lose on my HD and not fully backed up at the moment.
