I'm in danger of sounding like a new parent ... but here goes ;D Does anyone know why the poo is clearly divided into the black and white bits?

I'm in danger of sounding like a new parent ... but here goes ;D Does anyone know why the poo is clearly divided into the black and white bits? A normal dropping of a budgie consists of a dark, firm range and a white urine portion in the center. Dark being from Dark green to Black. The urine is of a creamy to firm consistency in general. If the bird drank much or ate fresh food, it is a bit more wet. If the condition of the droppings differs from the consistency described above during a longer period than two hours, this could indicate a beginning illness. A stressed bird with have green droppings also a bird that has eaten fruits and veggies along with grass and leaves Some meds can turn droppings green as well .... As long as they are of the right round shape there is nothing to worry about ... Anything that isn't round, or that is wet ( unless fresh) is not healthy

Great link Stace. I've been putting a little too much effort into examining my birds poo, I've been picking them up in paper towels, squishing them, really looking at them ,now I understand I only need to take a quick glance at them and compare to this pics , thanks. I was starting to feel like a member of an African tribe where they taste their baby's urine to check on their health.
