I am struggling with this lay out You'll be okay, Barrie. Just give yourself a moment to figure out the bits you're unsure about. It's not so very different from the old one. Is there anything in particular you're having trouble with? I hope you will get used to it Barrie.

Here we go again..... Talk about Lost In Space. When I can see the forum as others do it looks lovely - clear, pretty straight forward and really quite exciting. It's lovely to be here. Then, and I've no idea why, suddenly all the frames, text layout, icons, images vanish..... I'm left wandering in a big "white out". I really am sorry to add to everyone else's problems. Hopefully if you leave me to wander about for a while the white will melt away and everything return to the new normality. Perhaps it is something to do with my browser (Internet Explorer v6) or maybe it's my internet security.

Any help threads with putting pics on, i haven't a didgeridoo now. I think it's pretty much the same. If you have a photo already stored on the internet then click the little picture frame pic that says "insert image" when you hover over it and enter the url. Or - add attachment, top right when you create a post.

Help! All I can see is a massive white page and text with posts but this is all so confusing. I can''t even find a window in which to ask for help so I'm using a tiny 5cm "Quick Reply" patch. I'm not sure I'd be able to find a reply to my plea for help either Hi learner, Look at the top right hand side of any post. There's a button called QUOTE. Click that, and it will take you to a new window, very similar to the old version. Now. On the bottom right of this new window, there's a button called CREATE POST. Just click that to post it.

Replying to posts. Starting with the most simple way.
1. If you want to simply reply to a post. Write in the QUICK REPLY box at the bottom of the forum. Then click POST QUICK REPLY at the bottom left of the box.
2. If you want to reply to a post, with more options, click the REPLY button on the top right of the QUICK REPLY box. It will take you to a new window. Write your post, then click CREATE POST button (on the bottom right of this new window).
3. If you want to quote someone when replying, hit QUOTE at the top right of their post. That will take you to a new reply box, with the person's quote included. Write your response and click CREATE POST to post it.
Supplementary information. Once you've mastered those basic posting functions.....
4. If you want to quote someone (and see their quote in regular human text without all the computer code)...You do the same as no. 3 above. That is, hit QUOTE at the top right of their post. That will take you to a new reply box, with the person's quote included.
Now, look down at the bottom left of the new reply box that has popped up. It says "Visual/BBCode". Click on VISUAL. This lets you read the text as a normal visual text block, without the computer code wrapped around it.
Write your response and click CREATE POST to post it.
Supplementary information. If you like the look of this VISUAL text, you can change it permanently as a default in your profile under 'Settings". You can still switch between Visual and BBCode for individual posts if you wish.

Mmmm i have been having a go but no luck, will have another dabble Marianne, thanks. Have you signed up to a picture hosting service? Like Photobucket, Tiny Pic, Image Shack? Or are you posting pictures directly from those stored on your computer?

New Posts now run for more than one page. That's much better. I like how the page numbers "stick" at the top as you scroll, and they're nice and big. That's much better too.

I'm thinking. Would it be better functionally to have the REPLY button - the one on the right of the QUICK REPLY box - sitting in the scrolling top bar somewhere alongside the Page Numbers and Actions?
It might be less confusing for people? and also means you can reply without having to scroll to the bottom of the thread to post. Just a thought.
