Hi all I am planning to make a nice fruit and vegetable salad for my 9 budgies in the morning and I am wondering if any one has fed blueberries to their budgies and if so how did you serve it ( peeled, chopped up etc) Thanks in advance Nicola

You're welcome Their mix vegetables or egg-food does not contain any fruits. Sometimes they get the fruit slices of what we eat, apples etc.

I've given my birdies blueberries They liked them, but not as much as the other veggies/fruits I give.

How do you serve kiwi? Do you have to peel it? Do you leave in the pips?

Right! I have finally decided what to put in the salad. Carrot (always a huge hit!) Corn (a big hit with some of them. Although I don't think anyone gets any besides Digger, the way he tucks into it ) Lettuce (not too much) Kiwi fruit (first time trying it!) Broccoli (given it to them once before. They ate it, but didn't enjoy it as much as other things. Hopefully we will go better this time!) I was thinking about banana, but I thought I would try 1 new thing at a time! Nicola

That sounds good, Nicola! I made them some today too - corn, spinach, carrot, sweet pepper, boiled egg, cucumber and a pinch of garlic powder. I didn't think they would, but they LOVE it!

Nicola I wouldn't even bother with the lettuce. It's really got little goodness in it. All the other things are good though. They should love it.

Hope it's OK to ask here rather than start a new thread for one question:
I brought a chunk of rosemary bush home from the allotment yesterday. Would it be OK to put this in for my 6 budgies to nibble at?
I thought they would enjoy playing in it but wondered if there might be too much for them in one go.

Rosemary should be fine, Learner. I don't think they would eat more than they want, but keep an eye on them and see. If it looks like they are being little pigs, take it away.
