Well, you've done a fab job, skysmum. The garden is just lovely. I know what hard work it is. We've just spent the past 8 months fixing up the front of our place. Almost every weekend and whatever spare time we had. Still not quite finished.

We always found it was the LITTLE jobs that ended up taking the longest and were more problematic .

I don't know how I managed to miss this thread, but Susannah's last post drew my attention to it and WOW what a fantastic garden you have skysmum. I have just, well a year ago now, moved house and the garden had been left to do its own thing for a number of years, so I appreciate all the work you have put into yours. Unfortunately, but in a nice way, I have chickens, so my garden hasn't a hope in hell of ever looking like yours. Nevertheless, we are still working on it, and making little 'chicken proof' areas. Maybe, I will post a few pictures at a later date!!!

Ok this is a long thread and I may have missed something but......having moved 21 times in 48 years of married life, make that 20 in 36 years because we've been here 13 +-.....I really don't know why anybody in their right mind would move home after getting theirs looking so lovely. Unless you've lived in one place (like most normal people!) for a long time and need to 'downsize'? It seemed that every time we got our places the way I we wanted them, it was for someone else to enjoy, or totally change. Your home and garden look lovely skysmum but we wouldn't have the energy now to look after a big place, we had huge gardens in South Africa and in Berkshire but the ones (front and back) we have now suit us my husband down to the ground as he did all the hard work really
