In the day Elfie is all lovey dovey with Meeko, they play kiss ect ect but i have noticed that at bed time when Meeko just wants to sit next to Elf to go to sleep Elfie wont have it,he doesnt really do much until Meeko looks at him and then he will peck him so either Meeko moves right to the other end of the perch with his head turned the other way or goes to his swing-why is this do you think??...poor little Meeko...

He just needs his space, Moogie. At least Meeko is allowed to stay on the same perch (Smudge has to have the whole perch), and with time he may not have to move as far. Remember Elfie has grown up with it all his own space. I think Elf's doing very well.

I agree with Hezz about him letting Meeko share his perch. There is NO WAY Millie will share a perch. To get close to her Hob hangs off the side of the cage. She doesn't mind being close to him and happy for him to hang off the side, but don't let him climb on the perch ... oh no! Elf is still the boss at yours, here Millie has totally taken on the role of head honcho.

Forgot to say - I definitely think you made the right decision in the end with Meeko. Millie may have been too much for Elf and his soft nature. Hob is no pushover, but our little girl sure is feisty and he has no choice but to take the back seat (he's not bothered though, thankfully). I think she may have been too much for little Elfie.

Funny how things go isnt it!!....I think Millie would have been to much also....Meeko is like Millie in the way that he wants to play ALLL the time but he is defiently softer with Elfie...so glad Millie and Hpb get on so well as well..x

Meeko is the perfect little bud for Elfie. I think Lousette is right and he would have been totally overwhelmed by Millie. As gorgeous as Millie is, I do know what a handful a hen with a big personality can be.

What lovely pictures. They look so happy together. Elfs feathers look so much better too. Meeko seems to have done the trick.

I was introduced to another baby Meeko on the weekend. The young boys down the road have a new puppy they have called Meeko. Meeko the budgie is much, much prettier than Meeko the puppy.
