Eggs might be a bit tricky for me to get a hold of at the moment so I wondered if anyone had any experience of using either Haith's Egg Biscuit Softfood or Haith's Rearing and Conditioning food? I can't really tell the difference between them on the Haith's website.
It's just to help my bud through his moult, not for breeding at all. Having looked at these posts about egg food it looks like something that might help him during moults.
Thanks!

Thanks jellybean. I went with the Haith's Egg Biscuit Softfood in the end. 1kg was the smallest pack so I think it's going to last me a while. I hope he likes it! I love your avatar by the way - those are two gorgeous birdies!

Thank you, but sadly I lost my wee boy Max (on the left) last year.
But Ben was missing him terribly, so I bought my lovable little rogue Sam for company.

Oh jellybean so sorry to hear about Max. Since Willow has come to live with us I've occasionally found myself worrying about how awful it would be if we lost him. Is that weird - worrying about losing him when he's only just arrived? I just love him so much. And I'm also the sort of person who finds something to worry about even if there's nothing so I'm sorted with the current situation!! Do you have a pic of Ben and Sam? It would be lovely to see them.

Ben is the one on the right in my Avatar, Ben and Max were Brother's, there was only a day between them.
I'll look for a picture of Ben and Sam and post it for you.
Sam is my baby, he is almost 9 months old Ben is now 6 years old.

Marianne Marlow Since I usually don't make my eggs by boiling (I just make a bunch in the instant pot, and store them in the fridge)... are they supposed to be cooked to the point of being dry/over done? Also, how long is it safe to leave the egg food out for before discarding?

Eggs are a prime carrier of Salmonella, and this is the only reason people over-boil them. 10 minutes gives you a hard-boiled egg, and that should be more than enough to kill off any Salmonella.
Are you meaning commercially available dried egg-food? If it is left dry it can be left out for as long as it is clean - bacteria need moisture to breed. Once it is moistened you then have a potential breeding ground for bacteria so it should be looked at in the same manner as fresh egg - depending on your ambient temperature, a couple of hours at most.

Ellie I would think cooking the eggs in your Instapot pressure cooker should be good enough since its both heat and pressure, after all it is good enough for sterilization in canning! Because the eggs are fresh, like Hezz says, after a couple of hours out discard them.

Sorry that I am late to the party.
I do cook mine for twenty five minutes and then leave them out for 2 hours.

If you mean a boiled egg then half an egg is sufficient for one budgie. I'd give it twice a week if he's going through his first moult.
