Aw, I love bunnies They look lovely. Do they like being handled? My 2 rescues are moulting like mad at the moment and are getting pretty fed up with being groomed all the time!

Beautiful bunnies! Your lop-eared looks a little like ours. Pebbles emigrated from Northern Ireland a few years back.

Aw, Gaile, how good of you to take them on. I love rescue stories; do they come with their own personal issues?

Angus was from a family that had 4 small dogs that barked and bothered him all the time. I use to childmind the grandkids, I'd just lost my 2 other rescue bunnies to myx and when I seen Angus ( was called Humphrey ) I asked for a cuddle off the bunny because I missed my bunnies!!! When I picked him up I couldn't believe how long his claws were, so I trimmed them. Also mentioned to the lady that Angus had teeth problems because his eyes were watering a lot ( that's one of the symptoms ) So Angus ending up coming home with me to a massive garden, lots of grass and no dogs!!! I got him neutered and had his teeth sorted, they were bad!!! now that he is on grass there is no problem with them now!!! Angel was from a rescue place that took Angus and there kindly bonding them for me, as its not easy to bond bunnies!!! I'm a great believer of rescues and have all pets neutered fro rats to dogs/cats xxx

That's a lovely story, Gaile. My dogs have been rescues, one as a pup and no real issues, and Mac at 12 months with a number of mostly minor issues. I would happily take on more birds as rescues if homes were needed, but there doesn't seem to be the numbers there are in the UK. There are a lot of members with rescues of one kind or another.

Lovely buns Gaile, my daughter has just adopted two sisters from PAH, they were in the adoption section because they were 4 months old and everyone wanted the baby ones. My daughter was watching them and she was amazed by how close they were, cuddling up to each other. A lady came along and asked if they would split them up and the assistant said she would at which point my daughter said, " i was just going to ask to take them both ". No hutch, nothing . So she went to buy cat litter and came home with two bunny's, a hutch and all the other stuff needed, expensive cat litter that day. She loves them to bits and the buns are never apart, so cute.

Lovely story, too, Skysmum. So sweet that your daughter didn't allow them to be separated.

The latest bunny I adopted was a female with blue eyes. I asked them to give me the bunny that was least likely to get adopted, and apparently it would have been Flower due to her eye colour!

I shake my head and ask "Why? " Is blue a sign of blindness, or potential blindness in bunnies, too? From what I've read, rabbits with blue eyes+white fur and lop-eared rabbits are more prone to epileptic seizures. Also, brown is usually the preferred eye colour for show rabbits. My rabbit had brown eyes but she still became very, very sick. I love rabbits but I'd never look after another one.
