Once upon a time, there were two beautiful budgies named Blue and Lizzie. They lived in a great home that was also a farm with plenty of pals to hang out with.
Oops! wrong photo!
( Sorry for the poor quality of the picture)
Well, as time went on both Lizzie and Blue got lonely and decided to find their own special birdy mate. Then, one grey morning, they realized what they were looking for had been in front of them the whole time. Already best buddies, they decided to have a family.
Lizzie is the Green and Blue is the...well the blue one.......yeah maybe could have used a bit more originality in the name......but on to the next thing.
It took some time! But eventually everything was ready for their family to start. Then one morning Lizzie was very agitated and loud so Blue came to see what is was.
An Egg!
Blue was thrilled and proud of his mate! She went on to lay even more eggs!
List Of Eggs
egg 1- 7/7/13
egg 2 - 7/9/13
egg 3 - 7/11/13
egg 4 - 7/13/13
egg 5 - 7/15/13
egg 6 - 7/17/13
It took a while, (during which Lizzie's faithful mate fed her and groomed her every day)but she was determined to hatch these eggs!
One day, a small squeak was heard from the nesting box.
OMG!!!
Wrong photo again! -pounds photobucket with hand-
Mom and Dad were very proud! They knew this little one would make it if it possibly could, because they would give life and limb for it's protection. In fact mom grew snappish whenever a hand was put near her baby.
Several days passed, and the chicks grew and grew.
they grew more
and more....
Until finally they looked just like Mom and Dad!
Hero 1st(his feet are orange from the chopped carrot and egg I give them)
Nibbles 4th (please excuse the mess in the background )
I will post more pictures when I have taken them.
Now Lizzie and Blue are having a well deserved rest. They are so proud of their six chicks!
I want to say that this website has been a VeRY great inspiration to me. I loved all the stories of the people who had chicks, so I decided if I could I would try it It turned out out pretty easy and straightforward. I had no previous budgie breeding experience so I was very surprised I could pull this off. Maybe I had help what with Lizzie being such a great mom. (She was bought from a local pet store)
Hope you enjoyed it!
