Do I have to go to a vet for a prescription in australia? Not necessarily. You would have to check out your pet stores. I know of one where I am that keeps it in stock, but have you tried getting it on-line? Most of the on-line pet produce stockers have it.

a photo of one of my birds. i believe that is the start of scaly face right? also another 1 has slight yellow on both corners of 1 eye and another that has lost a couple feathers on 1 eye so im gonna assume yes? well before i noticed this i have already ordered my ivermectin 0.1% to treat all my birds and i plan to trap them in 1 side of the aviary so i can scrub disinfect and mite spray the whole of that side then i intend to catch each bird give them the drop chop there nails and do a thorough check then put them through to the cleaned side and then scrub and disinfect and mite spray the whole of the inside should be fine right? and that is the first sign of scaly

Yes that looks like scaly mites. You will have to treat them with one drop every week for three weeks or as directed on the Ivermectin 0.1 package.
Disinfection of the perches and other stuff would be better in the last stages of the treatment.
