And the little beauty is still flowering. I think they go for over a month or so ? It has been well over six weeks, more like eight, now, but I don't see a whole heap more buds on it. There are some, but not the numbers like before. I am having a hard time keeping the mealy bugs out of it atm. I am the mealy-bug vigilante, going looking for trouble every day!

BudgiesBuddy, the last flower has fallen, sometime this morning. It was there at 5.30am, it is now 11.45am and the flower is on the ground. So that is about three weeks from almost open bud to finished flower. I do have a seed pod developing, but from past experience and enquiries, the commercially available ones here are all sterile. This doesn't fit with what I have just read, so I might have a go at propagating them. They are so easy to grow from cuttings though, so haven't really thought much about the seeds.

That a long time for flowers, I guess Mine has just started little buds. Some barely open and some not yet. I will get some pictures.

Lovely! The saga can continue. What colour are the flowers? Some sort of red, I guess. It's the first time and they are hardly opening

I did notice the sand. I suppose it isn't just a case of get a hose and wash it off? ? If the colour the buds are showing on the computer are true to life, then I am guessing your flowers will be the same colour as mine. Can't wait for them to open.

Hosing it down is not a feasible option here. The color is looking a bit darker now. I suppose we will have to wait for them to open
