this is amazing! All you actually need is a vase to put a larger branch inside and connect this one with other branches! :-) wow so beautiful! But I have a question, what is this tape that you used to connect the branches with each other?

Itchybear - trust me - minimal skills necessary for this. Really just drilling holes in base and dowel then screwing the uprights into the base and even then i didn't manage to achieve the perpendicular!
Tanja - the bigger branch isn't actually attached - just looks like it in the pictures. I've used carpet tape to anchor the bigger branch in the vase, but I see a bit is coming loose. I've never seen them show any interest in the tape, but I'll need to stick it down again.
The twigs on the playgym are just tied on with raffia (which I get in a garden centre). The whole structure really is very basic. I think now that they are sold on it I'll add a diagonal at the front and lure them on to that with a willow ball (meant for hamsters). Those keep them occupied for hours.

So adorable! The gym looks great, the birds are beautiful and the photos tell a great story.

Fab photos. Is it a camera or phone with one?

Your camera must be super fast to be able to catch those flight shots birdguhl, nice work! No doubt it takes a lot of skill too to catch those pics, they are amazing!
