I think we've sorted out how to upload pictures, can everybody see this? His colours look really washed out because of the flash but now I know what Im doing I'll get the good camera out and take some in the light.

It looks like a little hen from that picture. I'll wait until you have the better pictures before the final sexing.

very pretty - so perhaps a name that could be used by either sex...

Looking at him/her today although the cere is pale purple/pink there are white rings around the nostrils, so it could well be a hen. So I'll have some feisty fun to look forward to in the future. At the moment he/she is very friendly and not a bit afraid of hands or movement .I know that could all change when he/she settles in and gains confidence.I'll get onto the new photos and post them in the gender section soon.

I suppose it depends too, on if the breeder handled him/her a lot

Yes the breeder did handle the babies a lot that was one of the reasons I got one from him.

I really hope so. I will call him a him for now until I know for sure.He has been so laid back right from the start, after about half an hour in his new home he was sat on the food dish i'd put on the bottom of the cage eating away and then went all around giving everything a little chew to check it out, I didn't expect that.

A late but sincere welcome, Carol. You do have a gorgeous birdie there. You are so lucky to find a breeder who does handle the chicks. For me it seems to be all or nothing - either they hand-rear them, or leave them until they leave the nest. So frustrating. For a name ...... somehow Piper comes to mind ..... I would like to call a budgie Piper ..... hee hee, especially a pied.

Thanks Hezz. It just seems a bit too good to be true at the moment, shes so friendly I keep expecting her to freak out.I hadn't thought of Piper for a name but its at the top of the list, thanks

Yes its weird where we get names from. I bought a pot of basil yesterday to see if she'd try it and thought Basil would be a good boys name. I love Baileys playgym by the way,I will probably get one like it.

I know the darker one you mean, it looks more rustic. Funny you said Poppy, that was also on the list.My daughter visited earlier and said what about Tink or Tinker. I used to call my yorkie Tink all the time even though his name was Ollie, so that's a name Im used to.
