Day 15
Merry Christmas everyone! I wish you all the best and a wonderful time with your families and loved ones. My husband and I had a nice day today. In the morning I was baking muffins and then we went out for a nice walk in a forest in our area. Was pretty awesome. But today was also another day of training for FinFin. I started to get him used to both hands around him at the same time, he was enjoying the petting on his cheeks and his back head, as well as on his wings! He randomly closed his eyes while I was doing that. The more surprised I was when I went over to the step up training. He now starts to bite a little bit harder, as soon he sits on my finger. Sometimes he does go up a little bit and bites into my skin on the up side of my hand... ouch... I don't know why he started this new behavior. you could probably say: "still waters are deep..." but honestly, FinFin never tried to bite. And I don't really think this is nibbling or preening, except if he doesn't know how strong his beak is.
What could cause him to suddenly do that each time he sits on my finger? I did not change anything in our routines or anything like that! In fact he is enjoying the petting's that I give him each time. I am worried, that he may become a biter. But that would be kind of strange, if he is a boy, no???
I really hope, that this behavior does not continue, otherwise it would be a pain in the *** to handle him. Well what a nice Christmas present from my lovely budgie, biting...
