You must see this blue when her tail is spread in flight though?

Opaline budgies can have similar tails. Looks very beautiful though

Opaline budgies can have similar tails. Looks very beautiful though Would she be considered opaline, BB? I agree it is lovely. I have often wondered if she were opaline as the colour on her wings is the cobalt, but no one has ever brought it up so figured it must be a quirk of Spangles.

A budgie can be both Spangle and Opaline at the same time

Amazing & beautiful. Reminds me of rose's Marshall's magic tail.

Yes, Marshall had a wonderful magic tail, 3 years ago now. I only realised it was so long ago because of the date of the (not very good) pics I took: The pic really doesn't show off this wonderful tail at its best. One of the feathers was this amazing inky blue colour. Sometimes Marshie would be showing off the new tail feather, sometimes his normal white tail feather. Clearly the tail was magic. I keep trying to encourage him to grow another one, so far without success ...

Hezz, I think we can conclude that Misty's tail is magic. Great title for a book..... Marshall & Misty & their magical tails. (Or tales!)

I don't remember this! How could I have forgotten??? Did you ever see it again?? Tell me more, please! Misty's isn't her actual long tail feather, but seemingly an underneath feather. I don't want to go prodding and prying too much in case she freaks out too much, but simple looking doesn't do much to sort the mystery. I'll just accept it as a lovely lesson in budgie idiocyncrosies!!!

I think I must have posted Magical Marshall's Magic Tail to the old forum, if it was back in 2010? I've actually just found the feather in question (unattached to its owner) ... It's looking a bit ratty now, but I'll see if I can take a pic ...
