Hi everyone my name is sue and I have just joined you all on here. I have been keeping pet budgies for about fifteen years. I used to breed them just to see what colours I would get, but now I just have eleven left and I might breed a couple next year when I buy a few more hens. I have a few other animals besides my budgies. Four quail, one chicken, two river turtles, one tortoise, five stick insects and my beautiful African grey called Nina who is only sixteen months old. Looking forward to catching up on all the posts. Sue Hi sue! You sound like my family! We have 21 chickens and 1 dog 2 cats 2 budgies and we used to have two hamsters but they died of old age:(. how does one chicken survive alone? Is he/she a pet? I always thought predators would pick them off if they were alone. Of course that wouldn't be your case if it's a pet. Also, your african gray sounds enchanting...can you take some pictures? LTB

Hi. I only have a very small garden that is took up by sheds that are left open so the chook walks around and walks by the quail cages and even has an open pen by our back door that she sits in. We are surrounded by houses so we are really lucky. We did have three chooks but they passed away with old age.she adapted very well. Nina my parrot is such a character, but she is so nervous of strangers and has a major phobia of her own feathers. If she sees a down feather floating she screams and tries to hide herself or get to me so she can hide under my clothes. Once I get my new tablet next week I will try and get some photos on here. Sue
