This may sound like a daft question, but in my experience a daft question is one that is not asked, so here goes.
I bought a bottle of F10SC, and made a spray bottle up for general cleaning etc, but then I made a sealable bucket up with around 5 litres of disinfectant, and use this for washing feed bowls and perches. I wash them in warm water afterwards and thoroughly dry them before using them again. So, does anyone else have a bucket of solution made up, and how often would you suggest that it is changed for a fresh batch?
Regards Some disinfectants only last for a 4-6 hours if they are not covered but since yours is a seal-able bucket it will last longer-yours should last about all day.

Jumping on the cleaning bandwagon, can I ask how people clean their rope perches?

I clean mine the same way as I clean everything else ........ soak and scrub in warm to hot water with washing up detergent, rinse in a vinegar solution and dry in the sun. Whatever you do for your other perches, toys, dishes etc should be fine for the rope perches.

It's better to keep F10SC in refrigerator.

Both diluted and undiluted.

Should the already diluted be kept in the fridge?

Should the already diluted be kept in the fridge? Keeping it in the refrigerator would prolong it's shelf life.

Check the expiry/use by date. That will tell you whether it is any good still.

Keeping it out won't have any effect on it's described shelf life.
Keeping it in refrigerator would extend it.

It's funny isn't it, years ago when I was kid and we had caged birds, we didn't use special disinfectants, or things like Probiotics, or special powders. They had seed, grit, water and a cuttlebone. Nothing more nothing less, and they were cleaned out (fresh paper on the bottom and perches washed under the tap) once a week. I can understand that things have moved on since then, and perhaps it is our nature now to give the best possible care to our birds (and/or pets) which wasn't available then? I was thinking something very much along these lines too.... When I was a young teenager I kept and bred foreign finches, a few budgies and cockatiels. I had a couple of books and advice from older members of our local Cage & Aviary Bird Society. Life was simpler... fewer commercial products.... just common sense and lots of observation along with what you could get at the local hardware store and chemist or from my mother's kitchen cupboard. Despite being a novice (and worrying a lot with every new step) several of my home-bred birds came home with prizes from birds shows and they all stayed pretty healthy. Lots of fresh foods though... I tried everything I could until I found things that worked well and the birds thrived on. If only I had a better memory and recall more of the things that worked well years ago.

It's a disinfectant that vets use, and is safe for animals. I buy the ready diluted and wash Baileys cage, food dishes etc in it. And wipe places he eats off, with it
