BudgiesBuddy, I do have to ask the question ...... how do you burp a budgie??? By putting the pressure on the crop where the air is, when holding the chick upwards, so only the air comes out. If the food came to the mouth, it can go into windpipe on its way back and kill the chick. It's very dangerous and should be tried only if taught by someone experienced. I will try to post a video.

If the food came to the mouth, it can go into windpipe on its way back and kill the chick. It's very dangerous and should be tried only if taught by someone experienced. I will try to post a video. Sometimes during feeding chicks swallow air resulting in air bubble(s) in the crop, which can be painful and a problem for food digestion. This is when breeders burp the chicks. In the video below, the air bubbles were effectively removed by burping the chick. It was done in two attempts to make sure that the pressure on the crop is not too much. Hold the chick in a way that air bubbles are on the top of the crop and all the food in under it. Always wait for the chick to open the mouth, anticipating the burp. Minor air bubbles are not a problem. Remember, air bubble(s) won't kill the chicks, but burping can.

I did mean dexterous. Well spotted Hezz. Unfortunately I am having to rely more and more on spell checkers picking up on these things. I now see how difficult the English language can be. BB, you are spot on in what I meant to say. I am going to have to be more attentive in what I have written in these posts. Without wishing to go off topic, I have always took a pride in my command of the language, which was drilled in to me during my school days. Now that my central vision is taking a hit I have to rely on technology to assist. Sometimes it does not come up to the mark. I apologies for any confusion.

Your posts are perfectly clear. A few spelling typos are of no concern at all. It's easy to do when posting online like this. I make little errors all the time, and couldn't really give a hoot.

I seem to have miss a few posts by not paying attention. The video is excellent, and I noticed the dissatisfaction of Dilly. She certainly was making that felt. You are going to need some protection for your fingers very soon it would seem. She is so well developed now in just this short time, and still so tiny.
Thank you Stace.

Dilly's anger duly noted. Much in line with babies before the wind is gotten rid of. Is Dilly looking like taking on Mum's genes, BB?

You don't need to apologize for anything OP We all make our share of typing errors here
