It's alright breaking up the concrete, it's getting rid of the rubble afterwards. If you have somewhere to do that then it is not a problem. You could always break it up and use it for hardcore. Now, where is the sledge hammer?

Now, where is the sledge hammer? Crazy thing is that I'm going to have to buy hardcore.......but I'd rather do that than break it down with a sledge hammer.......lol.....

Wow that's a job and a half. We did a 50ft garden like that in our second house, the previous owners had laid it to concrete and cobble stones. I wanted it all up so that the children could have grass to play on and the dog would'nt pee on the concrete, it had to be grass . It wasn't as thick as that though . Be lovely when its done .

To be honest the concrete breaker that I bought made a big difference although my shoulders and arms are a bit sore.....
17ft x 9ft was enough, I think I would have left the 50ft garden.......lol........

Where to, now?? I think I would have been looking at using the existing concrete and grinding down smooth or re-surfacing, in other words the easy option, before tackling what you have.

My neighbours were ok to be honest and just basically said to get on with it.....

New skip gets delivered tomorrow so start the next phase....lol.....
