Budgie Breeding Journal "Matkoo" Dad (When he was a baby himself) - Normal Green Show Budgie - Split for Yellowface Opaline Blue Grandad
"Nikki" Mum - Clearwing Light Green Wild Size Budgie - Split for Blue (At least)
So I am expecting Greens, Blues, Yellowfaces and Opalines (All females), unless hen is split for something else as well. The chick would be of medium size. Bigger than the wild size and smaller than the show size.
Pair in Action - Compare their Sizes
Both Cock and Hen are first timers, so I was not expecting much. The hen has laid nine eggs and that's a lot, but despite her small size, she has managed to keep all the eggs warm because most appear fertile and developing.
And A baby has already hatched
A few minutes old

I have not candled the eggs, but by looking at these eggs one can tell the fertile from infertile. Any guesses?

I have not candled the eggs, but by looking at these eggs one can tell the fertile from infertile. Any guesses? There is one egg, up the top, middle of the photo, that seems a different colour to the rest. The water-mark makes it a bit difficult to tell, but this one is one I would have doubts about.

Top middle one out of the top three - different colour so I think that is the one that is infertile

The top most, and the left most, both in the middle.
