Evening all, If you've seen my thread under 'Taming' then you will know that I now have two budgies. The original idea was that Billie move in with Alfie but that's not worked out too well yet. At the moment, Alfie is in an Imac Irene 4. I bought a small Vision for Billie when it became obvious that she couldn't go straight in with Alfie and it would be cruel to keep her in her travel cage. The problem is, I really dislike the Vision. I find it difficult to clean and I can't understand why the feeders are on the floor when Billie sits on her perch and poops in them! I have ended up buying cheap clip on feeders but the problem with them is you have to go into the cage to take them out to refill them. Whilst I have no problem with this, I am going on holiday in a months time and Billie is none too impressed with others and is pretty good at escaping if the door is open. I don't think Billie will be ready to go in with Alfie nor at the moment do I want her to. She is tamer than I thought she'd be after just a few weeks and I wouldn't want to undo the hard work by putting them in together at the moment. So...I have two options. 1. Buy Billie yet another new cage 2. Buy something like this... www.imac.it/en/products/birds/cocoriti/Tasha-Chrome-budgies.htmlWhat does anyone think about the two options? Are the half and half cages any good or should I just stick to two separate cages? Grateful for any advice! Ax

I can't understand why the bird is pooping in the food. Have you put the covers on? Maybe the perches are too far back?

I have a medium vision as well and i think im the only one that has posted negative comments about it, its ok but i wouldn't have another. Please take a look at the ferplast canto, i also have this one and i LOVE it, it is perfect for introductions before removing the centre divider.

I haven't put the covers on because I couldn't figure out how they worked and I was anxious to get Billie out of her travel cage. That must be where I'm going wrong! (I am blonde) I still prefer feeders on the side of the cage though - I never really thought of budgies as ground feeders. The Canto looks good but fairly small when in half and it may well be they are like that for some time.

Mine wont feed from the ground ones and even with the covers on i found poop and feathers in the feeders, as we know poop can get anywhere and other feeders are quite hard to fit in the vision. I agree if the separation is long term the Canto is too small when divided, i only use the separator short term.

I have a vision cage. You attach the covers from inside the cage and they just clip to the wire above the dishes. Terrible description I'm afraid. I've found feathers in the feeders but not poo, yet.

I think the Tasha Chrome is too small with the divider for a bird that has to live a lot of it's time in there, sorry. So, it looks like Billie is going to have her own set of increasingly bigger cages.

Billie now has her own Irene. It's a bit smaller than Alfie's but given she's spending time out of it I think it will be ok.
So... can I interest anyone in a Hagan small cage with one careful previous tenant of about 4 weeks?
I would appreciate a bit of money towards it but certainly not the full price of a new cage.
Thanks for all your help.
